My At-Home Gel Polish Manicure

Sometimes, we need to show ourselves some love...especially during these crazy times! I know when I feel good about myself, my whole mood changes. What better way to do that than with a fresh mani and polish! I love the feeling of a fresh mani...don't you?

I have been doing my nails at home for years now. My polish has never chipped. Try it out and let me know if it works for you!

1. Clean, file, and buff nails.

2. Wipe clean with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

3. Apply a thin layer of a gel base coat. Cure for 10 seconds.

NOTE: apply thin layers of polish as thick layers will not cure properly. Also, my machine is pretty powerful so you may need more time for curing. Add 10 seconds to curing times if your machine is not as powerful.

4. Apply first coat of gel polish. Cure for 20 seconds.

5. Apply second coat of gel polish. Cure for 40 seconds. OPTIONAL: if you apply a third coat, cure for 60 seconds.

6. Apply top coat. Cure for 90 seconds.

7. Wipe clean with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

8. Finish by applying cuticle oil to cuticles.

Products used:

Gel polish: OPI

Machine: Gelish

Alcohol: any 99% isopropyl alcohol (the alcohol you use to clean your nails and cure your polish is key to your gel manicure's

longevity)
